Portrait of Matilda Ipeh Anashie

Hi, I'm Matilda Ipeh Anashie

I'm a Nigerian Product Design Lead with 6+ years of experience designing AI, fintech, creator economy, SaaS, and Web3 products across Africa, Asia, and Europe.

My background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering shapes how I work: understanding complex systems, finding the human problem within them, and building clear, trustworthy products. I currently lead product design for MUST Company’s Blockchain and User Experience Innovation Design team, guiding a four-designer team across two Web3 products, their websites, and a shared token ecosystem. I also introduced design-system and AI-assisted workflows that improved design-to-development handoff by 40%.

Beyond product work, I co-founded Canann Impact Foundation, contribute to open-source technology through Outreachy and ODK-X, and support the design community through mentorship, writing, and speaking.

something happened today and I realised —

tl;dr — if you won’t read the whole thing

Designed and launched a new identity and website for Folde Studio in five days, using an AI-assisted workflow to move from positioning to production without giving up creative control.

My role(s)
Creative Director responsible for positioning, identity, content architecture, design, and build
Created a reusable publishing system for adding future work without rebuilding the site
Used Claude, VS Code, and my AI design workflow to accelerate exploration and implementation
Directed the responsive experience and final quality across brand, editorial content, and interaction
Outcome
01
5 daysfrom creative direction to a live responsive website
02
One reusable content system now supports the studio’s work, services, and future case studies
03
The site has just launched, so this case focuses on launch quality and system readiness rather than unproven conversion results
Overview

The site had to be the proof, not just the portfolio.

Folde Studio is a full-service creative and product studio — brand identity, web design, UI/UX, motion, and growth work. A site for a studio like that can’t just list its services; it has to demonstrate the exact craft it’s selling, or the pitch falls apart on page one.

As Creative Director, I treated the project as both a brand launch and an operating-system decision: the site needed to sell the studio today while making future publishing faster and more consistent.

The Challenge

A brand object, a sales tool, and a live demo — judged in the first few seconds.

Studio sites get judged on identity, capability, and craft in the same glance, before a visitor reads a word — and this one had to be designed and built in five days, solo. Three constraints had to hold anyway:

01

Turn a multidisciplinary practice into one clear story — brand, product, web, motion, and growth work needed to feel connected without flattening the differences between projects.

02

Build for continuous publishing — the site needed a repeatable way to add new work without designing every future case study from scratch.

03

Move from direction to launch in five days — the identity, content architecture, responsive experience, and front end had to evolve together without losing editorial control.

The Approach

A five-day launch driven by systems, not shortcuts.

Four decisions kept the brand, content, and implementation moving in one direction.

01

Positioning before pages. I defined the studio story as a sequence from point of view, to proof, to services, to enquiry. That gave the visual system a business job beyond looking distinctive.

02

One publishing model, multiple expressions. A shared content structure keeps project information consistent while flexible case-study layouts preserve the character of different disciplines and clients.

03

AI assistance with human direction. Claude, VS Code, and my AI design workflow compressed exploration, implementation, and refinement. I retained control over positioning, hierarchy, art direction, interaction decisions, and final quality.

04

Craft used as evidence. Typography, pacing, responsive composition, and motion were treated as demonstrations of the studio’s capability, not decorative additions around the portfolio.

Launch Status

Live, newly launched, and ready to grow with the studio.

The identity and responsive website are live. Because the launch is recent, I am not attaching enquiry or conversion claims yet; the immediate outcome is a coherent studio presence and a reusable system for publishing new work.

Reflection

The value of AI assistance was not simply speed. It let me stay at the level of system direction while moving rapidly between writing, visual decisions, interaction, and implementation. The five-day constraint worked because the identity, content model, and build were treated as one design problem rather than separate phases.
